So here we have part one of a bungalow to mansard conversion by MB Design & Surveyors which we got through the planning, design and building regulations stages.
The upper structure of the new part of the building is timber framed and the contractor carrying out the work is Property Improvements (Mr Alan Paine) who is, as you can see, doing a great job so far.

This was a solution to the fact that the upper parts had to be kept lightweight construction.
The design was such to minimise the need for steel beams and incorporates a central core around the staircase which will be covered in later updates, hopefully in more detail.
